He was obviously very confident his new baby was up to the task but, just like McLaren’s current Formula One car, the P1 seems to be just a bit off the pace. Ford Motor Co. posted a 40 percent increase in U.S. sales last month and Chrysler Group soared 61 percent as the industry showed signs of rebounding from an August slump.
